Mr. Scherbarth was born Jan. 18, 1926, in Milwaukee, the son of Elmer and Eleanor Scherbarth. He was raised and attended schools in Milwaukee.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Scherbarth played professional baseball for the Boston Red Sox and was employed as a scout by the New York Mets.
He was later employed by Krueger Lithography Co. in the Milwaukee area. He was a member of Kilburn Masonic Lodge, and moved to Presque Isle in the 1980s.
He is survived by a cousin.
