Francis "Red" Hardy of Phoenix entered into rest August 15, 2003 at the age of 80. He served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot during and following WW II.

Mr. Hardy was a professional baseball player for the New York Giants in 1951 and also in the minor leagues. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge #335 and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; daughters, Barbara Groff & Susan Gordon; son, Jim; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Monday, August 18, 2003 with Rosary services at 7:00 P.M. at Paradise Chapel Funeral Home 3934 E. Indian School Rd. in Phoenix.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at St. Theresa Parish 5045 E. Thomas Rd. in Phoenix followed by interment at St. Francis Cemetery 5005 E. Oak St. in Phoenix.
