Thomas J. Zikmund, Sr., 86, of Evansville, has gone to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, September 27, 2010.

He was a Navy Veteran, played baseball for the Evansville Braves at Bosse field in the late 40's early 50's and he retired from Moll Tool in Millville, NJ. Thomas was an avid horse racing fan, baseball and football fan. His favorite teams were the Philadelphia Phillies and the Indianapolis Colts.

Thomas is survived by sons Tom Zikmund and his wife Dixie of Evansville, Michael Zikmund and his wife Lisa of New Orleans, LA; daughters Judy Schofield and her husband Steve of Columbus, IN, Karen Gendron of Indianapolis, Joan Allison and her husband Keith of Columbus, IN, 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by daughter Sharon Kuhr and granddaughter Sarah Zikmund.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N First Ave, Evansville, IN 47710. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday, September 30 with Rev. Larry Pharr officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct graveside services.
