Young, Jr., Roy Age
79, passed away at home on May 24, 2012. Preceded in death by his son,
John. Survived by loving wife, Reva; his brothers, Harold, Orville, and
Charles Young; his daughters, Caryn Wiersma, Janice Young, and Victoria
Young; his grandchildren, Roy, Leah, Randy, Allison, Taylor, and Ethan;
and his dog, Stud.
Roy was a lifetime sports fan and athlete. After high school he was recruited
by the Detroit Tigers and played in the minor leagues before joining the
U.S. Army. He worked for almost 30 years as a truck driver for Jewel Foods
before retiring to enjoy the good life golfing and spending time in Michigan
A memorial service will be held 12:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday June 2nd
at Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home 10727 S. Pulaski Rd., Chicago
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The American Cancer Society.
