YORK: Harry N. ''Tom'' Young, 74, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at his residence.

He was the husband of Yvonne M. (Stouffer) Young. The couple celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on December 3, 2007. Born August 3, 1933, in Wrightsville, he was the son of the late Norwood and Evelyn (Miller) Young.

Mr. Young was a welder for Campbell Chain for over 40 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Young was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Wrightsville.

He played minor league baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies in Pulaski, Va., and enjoyed gardening, building things, and traveling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Harry N. Young, Jr. and his wife, Roxanne of Wrightsville, and Larry Young and his wife, Suzanne of Wrightsville; a daughter, LuAnn Leeds and her husband, Darryl of Wrightsville; one brother, Gary Young of Wrightsville; one sister, Nancy Bowers of Wrightsville; six grandchildren, Samantha and her husband, Justin Fauth, Chad Young and his wife, Shauna, Dakoda Leeds, Derek Leeds, Sean Sargen and his wife, Gretchen, and Courtney Sargen; and three great-granddaughters, Sierra, Madison, and Savanna Young.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at 4 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 404 Hellam St., Wrightsville, with the Rev. W. Keith Rockwell officiating.

A reception will immediately follow the service at the church's fellowship hall.
