WOMACK, LARRY F., (affectionately
known as Papa), age 88, of Mesquite, Texas passed away peacefully on 18
Jan 2008 surrounded by his family. Larry served in the U.S. Navy 1942-1945.
He played minor league baseball from 1945-1953. He earned the name "Wildhorse
Womack, Texas Terror" for his running speed. He owned and operated
Larry Womack & Co. Insurance until he retired in 1982. Tennis and
golf became his passion and traveling to visit his daughter and grandchildren
in Australia.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 65 years, Dorothy, his devoted
daughter, Debra and her husband Randy, 3 grandchildren, Kristen and her
husband Billy, Aaron and Connor; 3 great grandchildren, Morghan, Annika
and Peyton, two brothers, Ray and wife Carolyn; Lloyd and numerous nieces,
nephews and friends.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, 22 Jan 2008 at Anderson Clayton
Brothers Funeral Home in Mesquite, Texas. The memorial service will be
held at 2pm on Wednesday, 23 Jan 2008 at Mesquite Church of Christ, College
and Locust Streets.
Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Christian Care Facility or Mesquite Church of
Christ. Many thanks to those at Christian Care Skilled Nursing Facility
