White, 77, of Lynchburg passed away on Friday February 24, 2012 with his
family and Ed Fontana, his devoted friend and business partner by his
side. He was the husband of Amelia Zarres White for 56 years.
Born in Lynchburg
on August 4, 1934, he was a son of the late Virginia and Harry D. White.
He was a graduate of EC Glass High School and Lynchburg College, Glenwood
played baseball in the Baltimore Orioles Farm System.
Following his time in baseball, he established his own companies and had
a successful 45 year career in the electronics industry.
In addition to his wife Amelia, he is survived by his children, Glenn
and wife, Tracey, Tina White-Kennedy, Kevin "Skip" and Vic White
and grandchildren Collin, Morgan and Christopher White, Amelia Kennedy;
great grandchildren Gracie and Addison, and his devoted Westie, Sam. He
leaves behind his brother, Ronald Lee and wife, Pat; a sister, Virginia
Mae and husband, Joe Burnett and was preceded in death by his brother,
The Family greatly appreciates the loving care provided by the nurses
and staff of Lynchburg General and Virginia Baptist Hospital as well as
the support and prayers of family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted 12:00 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2012
in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with burial to follow in Spring
Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends today, Sunday, February
26, 2012 from 3-5:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Service, 427 Graves Mill
