YOUNGSTOWN – Funeral services will be at noon on Tuesday at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church for Mr. Curtis H. White, 71, who departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at Hospice House.

Mr. White was born Dec. 14, 1940, in Tuscaloosa, Ala., a son of Matthew W. and Ella Piolaville Stines White.

He retired from the Bud Company. He was a member of the church, its choir and usher board. He was a left handed pitcher for the Detroit Tigers Baseball Farm Team.

He leaves his wife, the former Irene Stewart, whom he married Sept. 27, 2008; children Roslyn and Trina White, both of Gary, Ind., Tracy (Keith) Foster of Munster, Ind., Angela Ross of Hermitage, Pa., Rodney (Stacy) Barlow and Kelvin Barlow, all of Youngstown, and Larry Clark, whom he considered as a son of Youngstown; two sisters, Ella Q. Carter of Tuscaloosa and Bertha (Jeff) Clinkscale of Youngstown and Ann Floyd, whom he considered as a sister, of Youngstown; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers; a sister; and a grandson.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the church.
