Theodore 'Ted' Weygant,
82 OKEECHOBEE - Theodore "Ted" Weygant, died Tuesday, March
23, 2010, in Raulerson Hospital. He was 82.
Born September 18, 1927 in Manhattan, N.Y., Mr. Weygant had been a resident
of Okeechobee since 1985.
Ted played professional baseball in his youth, served in the United States
Army, then became an electrician by trade. He was also a well-versed history
buff. A devout Catholic and avid sports fan, Ted never missed a Yankee
game, a Dolphin game, or Sunday Mass.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Cornelia Weygant and Marie Weygant;
and son, Sean Weygant. He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Walling
of Grand Junction, Colo.; son, Michael Weygant; and grandson, Joshua Weygant,
both living in Germany; brothers, Dave Weygant and Jack Weygant of Lake
Placid; sisters, Joan Lonschein of Ft. Lauderdale and Mary Waldman of
Rhode Island; three stepdaughters, Theresa Cline of Okeechobee, Carol
Schecher of Port Orange and Linda Cline of Wrightstown, N.J.; and a stepson,
Kenny Shifflett of Orlando.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. with Mass to begin at 11 a.m. Friday, March
26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Hugh Duffy officiating.
Interment will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at Our Lady Queen of
Heaven Cemetery, North Lauderdale.
