Frank Watson "Buck"
Weaver of Milton, Florida, passed away August 1, 2009 at the age of 96.
Frank "Buck" Weaver, a native of North Carolina has resided
in Milton for the last 65 years.
Buck devoted a thirty year career to the Navy Recreation, the physical
and mental well being of student aviators and support personnel. Prior
to his association with the Navy he played professional baseball in the
farm systems of the St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians and the Washington
Senators.
As a coach of the Navy teams at Whiting Field his record of success at
district, regional and national levels are legendary. Buck retired in
July of 1979 with the dedication of the Frank "Buck" Weaver
Recreation Facility at Whiting Field.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irene "Dixie" Weaver,
a son Thomas James Weaver and his wife Barbara of Belle Chase, LA; a daughter
Deborah W. "Debbie" Dees and her husband Alvin of Montgomery,
AL; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 with the
memorial service to celebrate Buck's life to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the
Chapel of National Cremation & Burial Society with Dr. David Spencer
officiating.
A private family interment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery
in Pensacola, FL.
National Cremation & Burial Society of Milton, FL has been entrusted
with the arrangements.
