FORT WORTH -- Richard
"Dick" Arlen Viskozki of Fort Worth passed away of heart failure
on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at the age of 77.
Born Sept. 1, 1931,
in Taylorville, Ill., to Mike and Agnes Viskozki.
Dick was a high school baseball and basketball all-star.
He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox organization upon graduation in
1949 and later played for the Dodger organization.
He was drafted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952. While serving in the
Marine Corps he was in the starting lineup for the top Marine Corps baseball
team. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps at the rank of
sergeant in 1954.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service until retiring in 1989 after 33
years of service. He married Marilyn from Taylorville in 1960 and fathered
three sons.
