Family-Placed Obituary
GEORGE B. TYDINGS
Age 54, a lifelong resident of West Palm Beach passed away May 5, 2008
after a courageous 14 year battle with cancer.
George attended Palm Beach High School. George was one of Palm Beach County's
all time great baseball players; he played American Legion baseball for
Palm Beach Post 12 and signed a professional contract with the Atlanta
Braves in 1972.
He will be remembered for his strength and courage, his captivating smile,
and his curveball.
George is survived by sons Greg Tydings of Melbourne, FL; Kris Tydings
of Tampa, FL; and Sean Crooks of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughter Toi Stauffer
(Ron) of Jupiter; grandchildren Seaton and Saylor Spall of Jupiter; father
William and step mom Joann Tydings of Silver Springs, FL; mother Lenora
Reamsnyder of Stuart, FL; brother Patrick Phillips of Royal Palm Beach;
sisters Cheryl English, Alison Kopp (Ken) both of Franklin, NC; Terry
Tydings of Silver Springs, FL; Candy Doherty (Pat) of Loveland, CO; Susan
Rivera of Stuart, FL; and Cyndie Reamsnyder of Tucson, AZ; long time companion
D'Arcy Ries of Wellington; aunts, uncles, numerous nieces and nephews
and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 9-11AM at Mizell Faville Zern Funeral
Home 6411 Parker Ave., on Thursday, May 8, 2008. A service led by Rev.
Sherman Dibble will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made
to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
