Brad C. Thurman of Green Valley, AZ., went to be with the Lord on Thursday Nov. 15, 2012 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on July 20,1938, in Temple, Okla. After playing baseball for San Bernardino City College, he was selected by the Dodger organization and signed with a farm team in Bluefield, WV. He graduated from UCLA with a master's degree in 1961. He taught in Southern California for 16 yrs before moving to Ashland, Ore., where he taught middle and high school and coached for 20 yrs. He retired to Green Valley, Ariz. He enjoyed mission trips to Mexico and Kenya, Africa.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Marylynn; sons Mark Thurman, Scott Thurman (Crystal), and Ben Thurman; daughter Ginger Michelle Wohrman (John), step-daughters Briana Shroy (Danny), and Brandi Knott (Ty). He is additionally survived by his brother, Granville Thurman (Dianne).

He will be missed by grandchildren Brittney and Cole Thurman, Raymond and Grant Wohrman, Cassie and Austin Shroy, Gavin, Reece and Avarie Knott.

Husband, father, grandpa, brother, friend, teacher, coach, mentor... We all love him and miss him and know he's with his heavenly Father.

A service will be held at Evangelical Free Church of Green Valley, 1393 W. Mission Twin Buttes Rd., Green Valley, Ariz., on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.
