Harold L. Sumner, age 74, of St. Clair, passed away June 19, 2007.

He was the beloved husband of Bonnie; dear father of Andrea Kruger and Andrew Sumner; and grandfather of Sumner Kruger, Madeline Kruger and Hunter Sumner.

He is survived by his sisters, Martha Miller and Dorothy Mrosewske.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janelle.

After graduating from Utica High School in 1951, Harold was signed as a pitcher for the New York Yankees and played five years of pro baseball. He served in the armed forces and was honorably discharged in 1961.

Harold was inducted into Utica High School's "Hall of Fame" in 1997 in honor of his outstanding athletic contribution.

Harold owned and operated Belle River Car Center/Muff1er Doctor in Marine City until his retirement in 2004.

A funeral service will be held Saturday June 23rd at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours are Friday June 22nd 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
