Charles Storch, Jr., age 81 of Hayesville, NC passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at Murphy Medical Center.

He was a native of Gloucester County, NJ; he was the son of the late Charles and Edith Wild Storch. He played minor league baseball as a pitcher after high school. Charles began his career as a carpenter and wood worker. He was owner and operator of Wood Creations in Hayesville. Charles enjoyed playing golf at Cherokee Hills and enjoyed watching sports on TV. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Miriam Storch; two sons, James Storch and his wife, Marilyn of Marlton, NJ and Donald Storch of Lawrenceville, VA; one daughter, Char Eller and her husband, Jeffrey of Zionville, NC; one sister, Lois Hammel and her husband, Jim of Franklin, NC; one step-son, Dan Dunn of West Palm Beach, FL; one step-daughter, Debra Dunn and her husband, Randy Komisar of Portola Valley, CA and seven grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Wood Creations, 6015 Hwy 64 West, Hayesville, NC. Rev. Chris Rumfelt will officiate.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be in memory of Charles Storch to the Valley River Humane Society, PO Box 658, Murphy, NC 28906.
