Bill was born in Kansas City, Kansas. He was predeceased by his parents, Merle and Lorene Stites; brother, Ken (Inge) Stites and his grandson, Shane Mongovius.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend, Iona of 48 years; four daughters, Lorene (Marlon) Matteis, Debra (Craig) Dunlop, Jackie (Trevor) Kemp, Cindy (Floyd) Laliberte; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a special godchild, Jessica Maves (Kelly) and their children, Riley Ann and Morgan.

Bill served in the United States Marine Corp, Sixth Division, in World War II. He was a proud Marine and very proud to serve his country. He played professional baseball in the United States, Mexico and Canada as a pitcher in the 1950's.

He was a Project Manager on the building of the Trans Alaska Pipeline in Alaska from 1975 thru the completion of that project.

Bill will be dearly missed by his family, also Iona's siblings and their families with whom he had a great relationship, and many friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 28th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church (602 Boychuk Drive, Saskatoon, SK) with Rev. Father Michel Bedard as the celebrant.

Rite of Committal will take at St. Alphonse Roman Catholic Cemetery, Viscount, SK.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Augustine Parish, Saskatoon, SK or the St. Alphonse Roman Catholic Cemetery, Viscount, SK.
