Frederick Nicholas
"Nick" Stallworth Jr., age 87, a longtime resident of Fort Walton
Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully May 5, 2008.
Nick was born on March 24, 1921, in Chapman, Ala., to the late Frederick
Nicholas Stallworth Sr. and the late Ella Martin Stallworth. He served
his country faithfully during World War II.
Nick was a graduate of the University of Idaho and then became a professional
baseball player in Arizona and New Mexico. A successful businessman, he
owned and operated many local business and developed a great deal of land.
Nick enjoyed golfing; however, he was very selfless and loved helping
others in need.
Nick is survived by his companion, Shirley Temple of Fort Walton Beach;
and his son, Joe Way of Navarre, Fla., and their families.
The family will receive friends at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 8 Racetrack
Road N.E., Fort Walton Beach, on Thursday, May 8, from 6 to 8 p.m., with
complimentary valet parking.
Graveside services will be held at Beal Memorial Cemetery on Friday, May
9, at 3 p.m. with Dr. Duane H. Hamby officiating.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Covenant Hospice,
101 Hart St., Niceville, FL 32578, in Nick's memory.
