Don L. Spohn, 73, of
Sun City West, Arizona, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009.
He was born in Culver, Kansas on March 27, 1936.
Don was married to Sandra Sellack. Children from the marriage are Kathryn
E. Fitch (Jeff), Sarasota, Florida and Mark A. Spohn, Dayton, Ohio.
Don's second marriage was to Kay Robinson and together they enjoyed 31
years.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; daughter, Kathy; son, Mark; sisters:
Maxine Banninger Slick, Marietta Gotti, Salina, KS, Veda Hoffhaus (Charles),
Kansas City, Kansas; brother, Wayne (Betty), Bellevue, Washington; many
beloved nieces, nephews; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Harriet Spohn, brothers
Dean, Averill, and Larry.
Don was a pitcher for the Kansas City Athletics and a Detective on the
Salina Kansas Police Force. He later retired in 1993 as District Manager
with Allstate Insurance.
Don's greatest love was his family. Golf, Baseball and Cabinetry were
his passion. A collector of Advertising Memorabilia brought him years
of pleasure. His sense of humor and desire to help others earned him many
friends.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all of us.
