Thomas Scott Spino
of Gurnee The funeral service for Thomas Scott Spino, 50, will begin at
10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium,
410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake. Interment will be held privately. Friends
of the family may visit from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the funeral
home.
Born in Chicago, June 15, 1959, he passed away suddenly Feb. 11, 2010.
Tom was the vice president of sales for Cozzini Inc., where he worked
for 21 years. His career enabled him to travel the world, sharing his
larger-than-life personality and zeal with everyone he met.
He loved baseball since boyhood, progressing from Little League to high
school, and eventually earning a place as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs
minor league team. He also went on to coach his sons on several local
baseball teams. Tom loved to spend his free time watching sports in his
garage, surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors. Tom was a friend
to everyone, and in turn, was loved by everyone who knew him.
He was the beloved husband of 31 years to his high school sweetheart,
Cindy Spino; loving father of Thomas, Daniel and Kathryn Spino; dear brother
of Lori (Joseph) Angelilli and Cindy (Joseph) Bennett; cherished son of
Thomas Spino and Katy (Bud) Yauch; fond son-in-law of Will and Joanne
Henreid; brother-in-law of Lisa (Paul) Kasabian and Bill (Tammy) Henreid;
and uncle to eight nieces and nephews. His brother-in-law, Robert Henreid
preceded him in death.
