Jesse Snyder

Jesse C. Snyder,
93, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2008, at Manor Care-Kingston.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years,
Elsie (Ream) Snyder, and the late Clara (Caprio) Snyder to whom he was
married 22 years.
Jesse was born in Taneytown, Md., the son of
the late Charles and Minnie (Giggard) Snyder. Following cremation, there
will be a graveside service Friday at 1 p.m. at Greenmount Cemetery, 721
Carlisle Ave., York. Jesse was employed by the former Schmidt and Ault
Paper Company for 42 years and retired from there as a shipping superintendent
in 1977.
Jesse was an avid
sportsman and played pro ball for the York White Roses, as well as semi-pro
ball for other area teams including the Pleasureville Hawks. Jesse was
preceded in death by his son, Charlie Snyder, and is survived by his two
other sons, Jim Snyder of York
and Tom Snyder and his wife, Mary Ann, also of York.
