Upon leaving the military, Clint spent 30 years as a teacher, Coach and mentor to hundreds of young men. "Coach Smith" showed his faith in God because he "led by example". He was a man of great integrity with a kind, gentle and loving heart. Coaching was his passion and joy in life. He always enjoyed seeing players from the past and was always available to them.

After retiring from Napa High School Coaching he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, whether it was basketball, football, baseball, volleyball or soccer, whatever the sport he was happy to be there.

Clint will be remembered as a humble kind, loving man whose greatest wish was for everyone to know of God's love for all of us.
