Roy W. Sinquefield, Kenansville, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, after an extended illness.

He was born on January 22, 1925 in Coffee County, AL., and moved to Brevard County, FL in 1960.

He was a Purple Heart recipient who served in France and Germany during WWII. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Kenansville.

After his service in the US Military he was a minor league baseball player and Manager for seven (7) years. He was the General Manager of the Holiday Inns of Melbourne from 1960 – 1976. He then went on to manage the Port Malabar Country Club and eventually became a professional truck driver until his retirement. He married Annie Glenn Finney of Opelika, AL in 1947.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughters, Glenda and Linda, and five (5) siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Glenn; son, Jim, Palm Bay; son, Tom, West Melbourne and several nieces and nephews.

The viewing will be Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and the funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM all at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 760 South Canoe Creek Road, Kenansville, FL 34739.

Interment will follow at the Kenansville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Missionary Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Sinquefield.
