COLCHESTER -– Robert W. Sinkewicz Sr., age 66, died of cancer on Feb.13.

He passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side.

Born Aug. 27, 1941, in New Britain, Conn., the son of Alexander and Bernice (Muszynski) Sinkewicz, he grew up playing baseball.

After graduating from Southington High School in 1960, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates and played three years in their minor league system.
