SHUMAN John J. W. Shuman
"Dub", 77, of Middleburg, FL, passed away on Friday, March 6,
2009.
He was born on July 29, 1931 in Jacksonville, FL to parents, Curtis and
Eva Shuman and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Shuman lived a very interesting life; He was a pitcher out of high
school for the New York Giants before being drafted into the United States
Navy where he served his country honorably. Mr. Shuman was in the 1st
class of motorcycle police motormen for the Jacksonville Police Department.
He also worked as a brick mason in Jacksonville to help construct several
buildings around town.
He is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Walter) Romano and Debra Daniels;
brother, George Shuman; sister, Margaret (Paul) Renfro; 7 grandchildren
and 2 great-grandchildren. Please sign the family's online guestbook at

The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Broadus-Raines
Funeral Home. The service will commence at 2:00 pm with Dr. Tim McDaniel
officiating.
