26, 1934 ~ March 10, 2010 Ron grew up in the Bernal Heights area of San
Francisco. He went to St. Anthony's grammer school and played ball at
After graduating from Sacred Heart High School, he signed a contract with
the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball organization. His first time off 'the hill'
was when he went to spring training in Vero Beach, FL.
Two days after marrying his wife Alice, of 55 years, they took the train
to San Angelo, TX. where Ron pitched in the West Texas - New Mexico baseball
league. They settled in Pacifica, CA in 1961 where they raised their three
children - Steve, Gordon and Carolyn. As Papa, he adored his grandchildren
- Jessica, Kyle, Keith, Kate, Monica, Amanda and Nathan.
Ron enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially the challenge of golf. He
played and worked for many years at Sharp Park Golf Course. He had many
fun out of town trips playing golf with the SIRs members.
After retiring as a civilian from the Navy's Department of Defence, he
and Alice went on many wonderful cruises. Ships have card rooms and Ron
did enjoy his card games.
Ron is survived by his brothers Gilbert and Robert and sister Elaine and
many loving nieces, nephews and family members.
At his request there will be no funeral service.
A memorial of Ron's life will be at the Chapel By The Sea Funeral Home,
Pacifica, CA on March 20th, 1:00 p.m.
