Clayton Sheehan, 84 World War II veteran, baseball catcher thedailyitemoflynn.com,
January 16, 2010 Mr. Sheehan, an aerial gunnery expert and sharpshooter, served simultaneously in the military with his three brothers during World War II. His missions included Air Offensives over Japan and China and earned him numerous decorations and citations. Mr. Sheehan graduated from Lynn English High School where he was All-Scholastic Captain of the Lynn English football team in 1943. After attending Arizona State University at Tempe, Mr. Sheehan played semi professional baseball as a catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was the beloved husband of the late Varsenik (Mekalian) Sheehan with whom he shared 49 years of marriage and father of Gail Sheehan and Lisa Sheehan of Swampscott. He was the son
of the late Daniel Sheehan and Georgie (MacGregor) Sheehan. He was the
brother of the late Evelyn, Phyllis, Dorothy, Wendell, Harold, and Henry
Sheehan. Mr. Sheehan is also survived by many nieces and nephews and several
grandnieces and grandnephews. |
