Gary Stephen
Senn One of God's truly kind and caring creations, passed away tragically
on April 22, 2010 in his beloved native San Francisco.
Gary was born May 3, 1951. The 4th child of Joseph and Margaret (deceased),
he is survived by three older brothers; Pat (Mimi) Senn, Mickey (Nancy)
Senn, Terry (Susie) Senn, and two younger sisters; Barbara Leavy, and
Moira (Joe) Chanese. He was the beloved uncle of Holly, Sam, Alex, Ryan,
Derek (Jihan), Kelly and Kristin.
Raised in an athletic family, Gary was a great basketball and baseball
player along side his brothers.
He went on to play professionally with the S.F. Giants AAA team.
He left baseball and worked for Standard Oil in Saudi Arabia briefly before
returning to S.F. permanently.
He loved to travel and went on many trips in his Volkswagon Van as well
as visiting Ireland with his mother to meet his distant relatives. Gary
never married choosing to dedicate his life to helping with the care of
his elderly family members.
He lived with and attended to the needs of his invalid grandmothers and
father until their deaths.
He remained living with his mother, his best friend, until her passing
in 2008.
Gary suffered a bicycle accident that year that gradually depleted his
quality of life. He suffered with pain, both mentally and physically,
struggling to find his place in this world. He was tormented by his demons.
We pray he has finally found peace.
Gary was the most likeable guy. He will always be remembered for his caring
way with people and animals - he loved dogs, his love of nature, and his
wonderful innocence. He really was a "good boy" and we will
miss him terribly.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday May 3rd at 11am at St. Gabriel
Church, 2559 40th Ave, San Francisco. Interment to follow at Holy Cross
Cemetery, Colma.
In lieu of flowers, we ask donations be made to the Humane Society in
his name.
