OCEAN CITY -- Frederick A. "Rick" Senger III, 60, of Ocean City, and formerly of Baltimore, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.

Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Frederick A. Jr. and Doris Myers Senger.

Rick was a 1966 graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. From 1967 to 1973, he was a catcher for the New York Mets AAA farm team. After moving to Ocean City in the 1970s, he owned and operated Coastal Soda Systems and retired in 2000. He worked for the Transportation Department as a bus driver for the town of Ocean City. He was a member of the Berlin-Ocean City Optimist Club and a life member of the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Susan H. "Susie" Senger; a son, Frederick "Freddie" Senger IV of Ocean City; a sister, Kitty Lepson of Sarasota, Fla.; and a nephew, Bill Lepson of Windsor, Pa.

A visitation will be held today from 11a.m.-1 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville.
