William R. Schick
Born Nov. 22, 1922, in Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late William R. Schick Sr. and Agnes (Woltjen) Schick. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army, and he received a Bronze Star Medal for his services. He was employed by Ronson Company in Delaware Water Gap as a laborer for 27 years and then employed for 10 years at Union Metal as a laborer in East Stroudsburg. He also worked as a title searcher for Gateway Abstract and Consumer Land Abstract, both in Stroudsburg. He was a professional baseball player playing with the Philadelphia Athletics and enjoyed dealing in antiques.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; three children, William R. Schick III and wife Gail of Maine, John L. Schick and wife Sandra of Bartonsville and Deborah L. Johns and husband Michael of Stroudsburg; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3, at the Stroudsburg Cemetery, Dreher Avenue, Stroudsburg. Family and friends are invited to gather at the cemetery at 2:15 p.m.
