Mr. Harold E. "Hal" Sanders, age 89, of Robinson, Illinois, died Monday May 7, 2012 at the Long Term Care Unit of Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois. Born April 30, 1923 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was the son of Nils H. and Lillian Evie (Broze) Sanders. On September 5, 1994 he married Genevieve "Jennie" (Barker) Sanders, and she survives. Hal served in the US Navy during WWII; was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Robinson, Illinois; BPO Elks #1188, Robinson, Illinois; Quail Creek Country Club, Robinson, Illinois and the Wisconsin Baseball Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife, Genevieve B. "Jennie" Sanders, Robinson, Illinois; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Mary Beth Sanders, Merrill, Wisconsin; daughters and son-in-law, Pamela and Jeff Hetfield, Merill, Wisconsin; Debbie Sanders, Wausau, Wisconsin; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a nephew, Scott Sanders. Preceding him in death are his parents; one brother and one sister.

Funeral Service Arrangements: There will be cremation with private family services at a later date with entombment of cremated remains in the Oblong Mausoleum, Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society or the ELKS Crippled Children's Foundation with envelopes available at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois.
