Sallis, Edwin Lee
Born 01/15/1932, died Oct. 18, 2009.

Born and raised in Oak Cliff and attended Cliff Temple Baptist Church as a child. Ed graduated from Adamson High School in 1949, and was a gifted baseball player. Two-time All City catcher, and All State in 1949.

Ed was also with the minor league Pittsburgh Pirates chain. Long-time manager of Western Grinding Co.

Preceded in death by parents Will F. Sallis, Sr. and Helen Sallis Cheney, brother James M. Sallis, son Daniel S. Sallis, and wife Glenda Sallis.

Ed is survived by brother Will F. Sallis, Jr. and sister-in-law Margie F. Sallis. Also survived by nieces Anita Sallis Purcel, Sarah Sallis Laos, Marla Sallis, and Valentina Sallis Phipps, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
