Jackie Gill Robinson, 78, of Hixson, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 in a local Hospital.

Mr. Robinson was a life-long resident of Chattanooga and retired from Chattanooga Times Free Press. He was of the Baptist faith. He was the son of the late Clarence and Roberta Bennett Robinson.

Mr. Robinson was an avid Bowler locally and on the National Circuit he Bowled a perfect game (300) in the 1992-93 season at Holiday Bowl. Such accolades led to his induction into the Greater Chattanooga Bowling Association (GCBA) Hall of Fame in 2001. Mr. Robinson was also a member of the Mantoon Phillies, A minor league Baseball Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies upon his completion of service in the United States Air Force.Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Robinson; son, Gill (Cindy) Robinson; two daughters, Terry Dobbins, Andrea (Kevin) Hollis, all of Hixson; two sisters, JoAnn Granillo, Indiianapolis, Ind., Vicki (Glenn) Leming, Soddy- Daisy; five grandchildren, Lee Dobbins, Samantha Webb, Logan Hollis, Evan Hollis and Morgan Hollis.Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Larry Clements officiating.Inurnment will be in National Cemetery at a later date.Visit www.hamiltonfuneraloptions.com to share words of condolences to the family and view the memorial tribute.The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 4506 Hixson Pike 423-531-3975.
