LaVerne "Mike"
Richert Feb. 19, 1930 - Feb. 23, 2009
Mike passed away at home in Sunnyvale with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of 52 years to his devoted wife, Viola. Loving
and caring father to Karen Townsend, Liz Brooks, Denise Dunn (Scott),
Bob Richert (Lisa), and Jennifer Ragno (Don). Doting grandfather to Katie,
Brian, Kyle, Regan, Natalie, Sarah, Lauren, and Julia. He is preceded
in death by his parents, Olga and Albert Richert, and Aunt and Uncle,
Gertrude and James Cragen.
Born in Eureka, CA, he had a passion for baseball in his youth and played
for the Wenatchee Chiefs and the Oakland Oaks and served in the Korean
War.
Later he started his career in the plumbing supply business, where he
worked until his retirement. He belonged to the Lions and Elks clubs and
was active in the ICF and SIRS #6.
He lived his entire life for his family and will be deeply missed by all
who loved him.
Memorial donations may be made to Pathways Hospice or the American Heart
Association in his name.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, February
26, 2009 from 5-9pm, and rosary at 7pm at LIMA & CAMPAGNA SUNNYVALE
MORTUARY, 1315 Hollenbeck Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94087.
Funeral Mass, Friday, February 27, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at Church of the
Resurrection, 725 Cascade Drive, Sunnyvale.
Interment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Los Altos.
