He was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, second son of Mildred and Lavere Renaud in 1934. He was predeceased by his mother and father, his brother Regis and step-father, Arthur Becton.
Ronald was a true sportsman at heart and was awarded Florida High School All-State honors for football and baseball and in 1954 he began his professional baseball career with the Milwaukee Braves/Atlanta Crackers for three years. He was drafted into the US Army in 1957 playing two years with the Third Army Championship Team. Following this, he spent 34 years with NASA Fire Services/Astronaut Rescue Teams during the Apollo Program (during which time he was Assistant Baseball Coach and scout for SCC for six years). In addition he worked as a tennis instructor (SCC) and he worked with Alaqua Lakes "Legacy Club" in Lake Mary, FL for 14 years through 2012.
A "Celebration of Life" service is entrusted to Oaklawn Chapel located in Sanford, Florida and will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2013 with a gathering following the service at the Legacy Club on Lake Mary Blvd. in Lake Mary, Florida.
