RAINS, Adam Gregory
Left us on April 17, 2009, in St. Helena where he was attending the Culinary
Institute of America.
Adam was born in 1976 in Sacramento, graduated from Rio Amricano High
School where he left many athletic records in baseball, football and basketball,
including All-City Optimist Team and Athlete-of-the-Year Award at Rio.
While playing baseball at Sacramento City College, the baseball team won
the national championship.
After playing college and minor league baseball, Adam moved to Amherst,
joined the band Bedside Manor, and toured the East Coast before returning
home to Sacramento. He became a sushi chef after training in Los Angeles
and went to work as an assistant chef at Tuli Restaurant and then at Kru.
Adam had a head thrown back wide smiled laugh you couldn't help but take
part of, a tight bear hug, and way of making everyone around him feel
accepted and comfortable.
Adam was love. He loved his family and his friends; he loved life; and
was excited about his new career in the culinary arts.
Adam will be missed by many, especially his momma Mallow Robinson, his
pop Gary Rains, his brother Chip Rains, his sisters Nikki and Amy Robinson,
his father John Robinson, his sister-in-law Morgan, his mother Donna Jean,
his grandparents Alma and Joe Rains, his grandmother Aggie Robinson, his
aunt Gay-Gay and uncles Brian, Doug, and Noel, and tons of cousins and
friends.
Services are planned for today, April 21, at 10:00 a.m. at River City
Funeral Chapel in West Sacramento. Reception to follow immediately at
