After several months of health problems, Jimmy Doyle Pruett entered into
a finer phase of his eternal journey.
He was born in Rector, AR., to Wink and Viola Pruett in the Ebenezer Community
near Rector, AR. At 17 years of age he was chosen by the St. Cardinal
baseball club and played minor league ball until he was required to go
into the military.
During his first tour of duty he played for the U S Air Force Far East
Team, was chosen for the All Stars and his team was runner-up for the
League. He spent 20 years in the Air Force flying cargo into war zones
and bringing wounded soldiers out. He served three tours in Viet Nam and
retired highly decorated after 20 year of service.
He is survived by the love of his life, wife Joy of Pearland, TX., and
his daughters Nye Hatcher of Paragould, AR. And Devin Nix of Anchorage,
AK.; also stepdaughter Carolyn Mahoney of San Diego, CA., Joy's three
children Pam Palmarez and Randy and Craig Mulvaney, their spouses and
many grandchildren and great-grands who loved Jimmy. His nieces Lynda
and Nicki Roberts and nephew Eddie Roberts also survive, plus countless
friends whom he cherished.
A memorial service will be held at Central Church of Christ in Pearland
on Saturday, November 17 at 11 A.M. and Jimmy's ashes will finally rest
in his family plot in Rector, AR., surrounded by his much loved relatives.
He will be long remembered and sorely missed.
