Clyde Brud Perry, 85, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a long [fight] from a fall earlier this year.

Born in Marysville on August 25, 1927 to Clyde "Tub" Perry and Alice Perry. A lifetime resident of Sutter Co., he graduated from Sutter High school, attended Yuba College before joining the Navy in 1945 - 1947.

Clyde belonged to the Native Sons, Meridian Lions, SIRS (Seniors in Retirement) and was a member of La Salle Baseball Hall of Fame in Sacramento and Northern California Old Timers Sports Association Hall of Fame. Clyde had many joys in his life; hunting, golfing and Colusa Casino, but few greater than his passion for baseball.

He signed with the Cleveland Indians and played many years of professional baseball including the Local Marysville Giants and an avid fan of the Marysville Gold Socks. There he went to MHM Engineering firm and Gillette & Harris He worked for the Yuba City Public Works Dept., retiring after 30 years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Lee Perry, his children, Stephen Perry (Virginia) of Yuba City, Karen Perry Bernatchez of Waterville, Maine and Gail Perry Littrell of Yuba City and Timothy James Perry also of Yuba City, A sister Joanne Raub of Sutter and brother Dick Perry of Oregon, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Minton Dobson of Sutter.

A Celebration of Clyde's life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28th, 2012 at United Methodist Church, Hwy 20 & George Washington Blvd., YC, officiated by Rev. Lois Black.

Clyde will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
