Fredrick "Sonny" Perrin,
67, of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009. He was born
Sept. 4, 1941, in Roswell, N.M., and was raised in Carlsbad, N.M., graduating
from Carlsbad High School in 1959.
Sonny distinguished himself as a pitcher in baseball from Little League
through college, playing on the Carlsbad Cavemen state baseball championship
team of 1958. Sonny attended Sul Ross University on a baseball scholarship
after graduation from CHS.
Sonny remained a baseball aficionado throughout his life. He will be remembered
for his unique humor, his way with words and his "blazing" fastball.
Sonny was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Perrin; brother, Larry
Perrin; and granddaughter, Sarah Sardina.
Sonny is survived by his wife of 37 years, Virginia Perrin; mother, Madean
Perrin; daughters: Regina, Dayna and Nicole; sons: Doug and David; brother,
John Perrin; sister, Jodene Perrin; and 10 grandchildren.
