PENNINGTON 1928 ~ 2010
Walter Pennington passed away Friday, March 18, 2010 at his home in Normandy
Park surrounded by his family. He was 81 years old.
Walt was born October 10, 1928 to Austin and Laura Pennington and grew
up with his sisters and brothers on Beacon Hill in Seattle.
He graduated from Cleveland High school in 1946, played minor league baseball
for a while, joined the army reserve and then went on to attend the University
of Washington studying business.
He met his Rose Marie Keeley also of Seattle and married in 1952. They
remained in the Puget Sound area to raise their family while Walt built
an active and successful career in sales for the heavy duty construction
equipment industry serving the west coast and Alaska. He retired in 1991.
In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, playing poker, golfing and spending
time with his family, to whom he was devoted.
Walt is remembered as a quite man generous of heart thoughtful, contemplative,
even tempered who deeply loved his family. His strength of character,
paternal presence and loyalty will be remembered by the family who loved
him.
He survived Rose Marie, his life-long love, to whom he was devotedly married
to for 54 years. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include his daughter Paige Pennington, Noel Pennington (Circe),
Wade Pennington, and two grandchildren, Adin Pennington and Keeley Pennington.
