Henry G. Pengel (Inspector, SFPD, Retired) - Surrounded by his loving family he went to his eternal reward on October 10, 2010.

Beloved husband of LaVerne (O'Callaghan) Pengel for over 60 years. Adored father of Margie (Dave) Minner, Mark (late Donna) Pengel, Mindy (Denise) Pengel, Mary Lou (Albert) Bahn, Marie Elyse (Tom) Bernardi- Curzon, Michelle (Mitch) Campagna, Matthew (Karla) Pengel, Miriam Pengel, Molly (Shawna) Pengel, Maura (Michelle) Pengel. Cherished grandfather of Chris, Joe (Heather), Emily and Jenny Minner, Becky (Jamie) Simon, Jason (Andrea), Amy, Amanda, Jessica and Jarred Pengel, Natalie and Charlie Bahn, Greg and Elyse Bernardi, Ryan, and Patrick Curzon, Katie, Cindy and Rosie Campagna, Andrew and Adam Pengel. Great grandfather of Analise and Vivian Pengel and Maeve Minner.

Devoted son of the late Henry and Mary Pengel. Loving brother of Lorraine (late George) Grenfell. Dear uncle of Mary Ness, Sally Mrizak, and Joan Kingery. Son-in-law of the late Charles and Peggy O'Callaghan. Brother-in-law of Donald O'Callaghan, Terry (Bill) Cutler, Mike (Leila) O'Callaghan, Kathy (Steve) Delahunty and John (Jenny) O'Callaghan. Special friends of "Hanko", Tracey Harriott and the late Tom Bernardi.

Dad was born in 1927 and raised in San Francisco. He played semi pro ball traveling the U.S.A. Hank and Vernie raised their family of 10 in St Cecilia's Parish and joyfully celebrated their 60th anniversary on October 7th. Dad joined the SFPD in 1950 and served for 29 years. He soon became a police inspector and an ace 3rd baseman on the police baseball team.

Dad was proud of all of his children and lead the way for four of his daughters to follow in his footsteps. His strong faith, integrity and love sustain his family now and in the years to come.

Family and Friends are invited to meet at the LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409) at 8:00 A.M. on Friday, October 15, 2010, thence at 9:00 A.M., proceed to the Star of the Valley Catholic Church (545 White Oak Drive, Santa Rosa [Oakmont], CA, 95409), where visitation will continue until the commencement of the Vigil Service and Celebration of the Funeral Mass will start at 10:30 A.M. Committal services will commence at 2:30 P.M. at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery (2930 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, CA, 95405).
