John Pearston, 80,
of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2009. Loving
husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully,
surrounded by his family.
John was born in West Hartford, Connecticut, on November 12, 1928. He
graduated from William Hall High School in West Hartford, Connecticut,
in 1947. He lettered in three sports: basketball, baseball and track.
After graduating, he entered New Britain Teachers College in Connecticut.
Leaving there, he joined the Boston Braves Minor League Baseball Team.
In 1950, John enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. While stationed in Preswick,
Scotland, he met his beautiful wife, Jean Wilson, at a dance and after
dating for 3 months, were married on June 18, 1954. They celebrated their
55th wedding anniversary on June 18, 2009.
John leaves behind his loving wife, Jean; two daughters: Karen McDermott
and Laurie Roberts; three grandchildren: Charlene and Tom McDermott and
Christopher Dyer; two great grandchildren: Maddie and Haden.
John's ashes will be interned in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona,
at a private family service.
