Louis Raymond Paz

Louis Raymond Paz of Middletown, retired Head Custodian at Twin Towers School in Middletown and a longtime resident of the area, died on Saturday January 1, 2011 in Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 79.
The son of the late Louis and Frances Sadie Paz, he was born on February 11, 1931 in Queens, New York.
He was the widower of Mary Jane Paz
He was a graduate of Montgomery High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. From March 1952-1954 he served as a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. He signed a contract with the N.Y. Yankees and played in their minor league system as a pitcher. He also played Baseball with the Army while serving in the military.
Survivors include his children Patricia Witt and her husband, Howard of Middletown; Jacqueline Paz of Middletown; Priscilla Paz of Tennessee; Suzanne Paz and her companion, Dominick Scarzafava of Middletown; Louis R. Paz Jr. and his wife, Lori of Wake Forest, NC and John Paz and his wife, Rebecca of Middletown. His grandchildren: Ashley Witt; David Witt; Dominique Scarzafava; Dominick Scarzafava; Zachary Paz; Alexander Paz; Alyssa Paz; Jameson Paz; and Julian Paz. His brother Frank Paz and his wife, Sheila of Maybrook and his sister Dolores Sisco of Florida, NY. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Flora Johnson.
Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday January 5, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-lngrassia Funeral Home, Inc., 72 West Main St. Middletown, New York. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday January 6, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Brick Church Cemetery Montgomery, New York.
