Andrew J. Payonk, age
82, of Columbus, OH, peacefully passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012 with
his family present.
Born October 21, 1929 in Chicago, IL, Andrew was a hard-working and kind
man who was filled with enthusiasm for life and the people that surrounded
him. He was a talented athlete and played AAA baseball until he married
the love of his life, Lorraine, in 1951, who preceded him in death in
Member of St. Timothy Parish. Andrew enjoyed drawing, music, hunting for
bargains, and plate-sized pancakes. More importantly, he was a loving
husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
Survived by children, Diane Tedeschi of Columbus, Steve (Sharon) Payonk
of Cincinnati, OH, Bob (Kathy) Payonk of Fort Wayne, IN, Karen (John)
Martino of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Aaron, Jennie,
Nikki, and Catie.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at St. Timothy
Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus. Father Timothy M. Hayes,
Family will receive visitors 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL
HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington.
Interment with military honors at Resurrection Cemetery.
