PASSERO, Joseph
(Lefty), 89, of North Haledon, formerly of Paterson passed away on July
3, 2010.
Born in New York City, he has lived in North Haledon for the past 49 years.
He served in the United States Army during World War II, and prior to
his retirement in 1983 he was an Lithographer for Town Off Set in Carlstadt,
NJ.
He played baseball with the Yankees Pacific Coast League farm system as
well as a short period with the Dodgers farm system. He is in the Bergen
County Hall of Fame and the Greater Paterson Old Timers Athletic Association
Hall of Fame both for Baseball. He was a member of the North Haledon Golden
Age Club and the Riverside Vets of Hawthorne.
Beloved husband of Marie Passero (nee Palazzone). Devoted father of Donna
Passero of Montville. Dear brother of Roger Passero of Hawthorne, and
Louis Passero of Florida.
He is also predeceased by his late brothers Philip, Anthony and Charles
Passero.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament
R.C. Church, Franklin Lakes.
Entombment George Washington Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander
Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes.
