JOSEPH (CHICK) PARESE
passed away November 6th 2008 with his loving family by his side. He was
seventy nine years old, born April 28th, 1929.
Joe Parese played baseball, football and basketball for Stamford High
School and graduated from Stamford High in 1947. After High School he
was recruited by Carbondale Pennsylvania minor leagues and enjoyed his
many successes as a minor league baseball player.
He worked at AMF from 1954 - 1964, where he met his wife of 52 years.
He is pre deceased by his mother, Asunta DePoalo Parese, father, Anthony
Parese, sister, Mary LaGuardia, and brother William Parese. He is survived
by his wife Barbara Stramiello Parese and children: Gary and Catherine
Parese, Terry and George Gardone, and Mark Parese. As well as his grandchildren,
Jaclyne Parese, Alexandra Parese, Brian Parese and Luke Gardone, sister
Ellen Parese-Palumbo and many nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care and The Bennet
Cancer Center, In memory of Joseph Parese. "There are no words to
describe how he will be missed by family and friends."
Calling hours will be held on Sunday November 9, 2008 from 3-7PM at the
Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 2900 Summer St. Stamford, CT.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday November 10, 2008
11:30AM at Church of the Holy Spirit 403 Scofieldtown Rd. Stamford, CT.
Interment to follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
