Michael Jeffry Overton passed away surrounded by his family on July 24, 2011.

Michael was born on September 13, 1956 in Riverhead, NY. Mike was raised in West Hampton Beach, NY and moved to Florida in the early 1980's. After dedicating 26 years of service, Mike retired from Tomoka Correctional Institute in 2011.

Mike was a Navy Veteran and proudly served his Country.

He enjoyed playing Triple A baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers Organization. One of his favorite past times was playing golf on Sunday mornings with his friends and in the afternoon watching his beloved New York Giants.

Mike's dedication to Joe Pa and his Nittany Lions goes without question. He loved having his family and friends around him. Mike loved his crazy dog and two cats.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; their son, Bryant; his brother, James (Evelyn) and William Overton both of Long Island, NY. In addition, Mike is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Mike was a wonderful husband, father and brother and will be greatly missed by many.

Service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10:00am at Edgewatcr Alliance Church located at 310 N. Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater, FL. Reception to follow. Any donations may be made in Mike's name to the Halifax Humane Society.
