Ocala - Wilbur "Will" Osthoff died May 11, 2012, in Ocala after a lengthy illness. A long-time resident of Bartow and Lakeland, FL, he was born in Gardner, FL, on Jan. 14, 1924. He served his country in World War II in the 101st Airborne division in Europe.

An avid sportsman, he played semi-professional baseball in the minor leagues and was the Bartow Golf Club champion twice. He coached little league baseball in Bartow for a number of years.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Blanche; two children, Marla Dieffenwierth and Steve Osthoff of Ocala; four grandchildren, Leigh Wright and Janna Abbott of Ocala, Joey Osthoff of Lake Worth, FL and Katie Osthoff of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers, Melvin of Bartow and Carl of Mina, AK.

He will be interred at the military cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
