Norman J. Ornellas died July 20 at his Arnold home. He was 74.
Born in Oakland, Mr. Ornellas lived in Arnold for 13 years.
He owned a State Farm Insurance office for 30 years and was a professional
baseball pitcher in the minor leagues of the Cardinals and Yankees in
the 1950s.
Mr. Ornellas is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ornellas, of Arnold; sons,
Rory Ornellas, of Valley Springs, and Chris Ornellas, of Sausalito; a
daughter, Lesa Osterholm, of Grass Valley; a brother, Larry Ornellas,
of Sonora; and four grandchildren, Linsey and Whitney Ornellas, of Valley
Springs, and Alex and Marcos Ornellas of Sausalito.

His wife said a Celebration of Norm will be held at noon Aug.
1 at Snowflake Lodge, Blue Lake Springs, in Arnold Angels Memorial Chapel
handled arrangements.
