Edward J. Nodolski, 75, of Old Forge, died Thursday evening in Hospice Community Care, Dunmore. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Hosking Nodolski. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary May 26.

Born in Moosic on June 2, 1933, son of the late Joseph and Pauline Kaminski Nodolski, Edward was a graduate of Moosic High School, class of 1951, and attended the University of Scranton. He then played professional baseball in the Coastal Plains League in Torboro, N.C., but the Korean War interrupted his chance to ever play out his contract for Scranton's team of the Eastern League. In the Army, he was a member of the 101st Airborne Infantry. He then did social work for the Friendship House of Scranton and worked for Veterans Affairs, Wilkes-Barre, before retirement.

His favorite pastimes were baseball and fishing. He was a member of the American Legion, Avoca. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Also surviving are two daughters, Dr. Maryann Decker and husband, James, Moosic; and Jacqueline Leone and husband, Chris, Hamlin; and three grandchildren, Morgan, Makayla and Jimmy Decker.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Hoffman.

At Edward's request, private funeral services will be conducted Monday in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, by the Rev. Michael Shambora Jr. Military funeral rites will also be held by the AMVETS Post 189, Dupont. Interment, Marcy Cemetery, Duryea.
