Le Roy W. Neitzke

Neitzke, Le Roy W.,
83, passed away on October 17, 2009. He and his wife of 60 years, Bernadette
Ann Mullarkey, of Beacon, NY, had recently moved to Richmond, VA from
Boca Raton, FL. Mr. Neitzke, a WWII Navy veteran, was retired from IBM,
where he worked for nearly 40 years.
He was born in Amherst, Ohio, and attended high school and the Krissler
Business Institute, in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was a lifelong sportsman,
playing semi-professional baseball with the Philadelphia franchise and
working with athletes in various youth leagues as a referee and umpire
for football, basketball, and baseball.
Mr. Neitzke was active in retirement in Florida as a golfer, a board member
in his homeowner association, and as a poll worker and census volunteer
in Palm Beach County, FL. He also taught computer skills and genealogy
courses to senior citizens in his community.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his four children; four grandchildren,
and three great-grandchildren. Following a private family service on November
16, Mr. Neitzke will be interred at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Richmond.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American
Cancer Society.
